Safety Studies

The implementation of SAERCO’s Safety Management System ensures that all safety-related aspects of air navigation systems have been taken into account and shows that all of the elements needed to guarantee the best practices in terms of evaluating and managing safety have been considered.

To do so, the Air Navigation Systems managed by SAERCO are evaluated in the safety studies conducted throughout the system's life cycle, from the initial conception and design stages to implementation, operation and maintenance and final dismantling. In addition any change made to the system or its elements means that the entire safety evaluation process must be repeated. Through evidence-based arguments, these safety studies show that SAERCO has achieved and maintained an acceptable safety level.

Within the Safety Management System, one of the essential elements of the management system is the ability to periodically supervise the safety level achieved by the company and its units. One way to accomplish this supervision is through measurement, analysis and regular monitoring of a series of indicators related to different activities associated with the provision of air navigation services and then to see how these indicators compare to a set of values of reference. This is an SMS proactive tool.
